What this is
Not a travel blog. A nervous system report.
You know the feeling. You walk into a space and your brain is immediately working overtime. The music is too loud. The lighting is wrong. The menu is overwhelming. The staff makes you feel like a problem. You spend the whole time managing instead of being.
The Neurospicy City Guide is the answer to one question: where can a high-achieving neurodivergent woman actually exhale?
I visit every space. I experience it as a guest. I score it across five criteria with staff weighted most heavily, because when someone receives your nervous system like it matters, half the work is already done. If a space earns a 4 or above, it gets the stamp.
No sponsorships. No scripts. Just my nervous system and the truth.
The designation
Relief Tested.
Neurospicy Approved.
A score of 4 or above earns the stamp. That means it made it through my nervous system filter and came out the other side. These are the spaces where you do not have to perform. You just show up.

5 out of 5
Come here on your worst day.
Every single criteria passed. Staff, senses, predictability, space to land. This place does not just tolerate you. It receives you.
Earns the stamp
4 out of 5
Really good. A few things to know before you go.
Earns the Relief Tested stamp. Genuinely strong across most criteria. One or two things to be aware of depending on your capacity that day.

3 out of 5
It is okay. Depends on the day.
Has real strengths but also real friction. Save it for a medium-spoon day. Not a bad experience, just not a relief experience.
2 out of 5
Proceed with caution.
More friction than it is worth on a hard brain day. You may have a fine time. You may also leave more depleted than when you arrived.
1 out of 5
I love you too much to send you here.
Failed across multiple criteria. The kind of place that costs you something just to be in it. Documented so you do not have to find out yourself.

How I score every space
Five questions. Honest answers.
Every space gets scored on the same five things. Staff is weighted most because that is always where it is either made or broken.
01
Weighted most
Did they treat me like a whole person?
Not a transaction. Not a problem to manage. They did not hover, rush, or require me to perform. They read the room before I had to explain anything.
02
Could I simply exist there?
No pressure to order fast, leave fast, or look a certain way. I could arrive as I was and stay as long as I needed.
03
Were my senses fighting the space?
Lighting, sound, and scent all manageable. The environment worked with my nervous system, not against it.
04
Did I know what to expect?
The menu was not a puzzle. The layout was not a maze. The process was clear. No hidden decisions waiting to ambush me mid-visit.
05
Was there somewhere to land if I needed a moment?
A corner, an outdoor area, a quiet seat, a booth with a wall behind me. A place to reset without having to leave.
